I am trying to find out about an incident where my grand father dived off Westminster Bridge in London to save a person who was trying to commit suicide by jumping into the River Thames, ironically he survived and grand father died of pneumonia. My Grand Father's name was William John TAYLOR, and he lived in 8, Bentinck Street, London, Middlesex, London in 1891. He was an Inspector of Water Works—which company I am not sure.
I am wondering if it was recorded in the news media of the time, or if there is any record of it anywhere.
Thanks in anticipation of any help anyone can offer.
