Am looking for Jemima OAKES Oakes, born 1765 in the Isle of Elba, Italy, also her husband, Lawrence ERMATINGER II, of Switzerland. Lawrence and his father, same name, but the First, eventually went to Montreal, Canada, and then Michigan, where he married into Chippewa Tribe. The WELLS family migrated into Ingham County, Bethany, Michigan, U.S., and are connected with Oklahoma. I suspect they came from England, Canada, and down to Mich also, as they are on the Metis list of 1836, Treaty with the Native Americans of the New World, U.S.
