Researching FARRAND, 1700 - onward, Southwark, Bermondsey, Peckham, Whitechapel, Cripplegate, Tottenham, Stoke Newington and rest of London. My family were Quakers associated mainly with the Southwark Meeting. John Farrand (1694-1732), originally from Kingham, Oxon (son of William Farrand, yeoman) was a Citizen Baker of London as was his son John (1724-1796); his son Joseph (1757-1841) was a pattenmaker, and Draper; his son Frederick (1786-1858) was a carpenter, and Draper.
My great grandfather Joseph Steevens Farrand left for America in the 1830.s or 1840's with his elder brother Frederick. They left behind 2 brothers Banks Farrand and Henry Farrand
and a sister Sarah Ann Allport. The latest news(c.1900) placed their decendants in Stoke Newington, Reading, Coventry and Edinburgh. Would like to learn anything available about any of these FARRAND and of decendants remaining in Britain. I have a detailed record of all FARRAND births, deaths and marriages 1724-c1870 handed down in the family, with all the various branches represented. Would be glad to share.
