Any information on the ancestors of George AVERY thought to be from London, Born c.1800. Married Ann James at St. Cuthbert Wells in 1820. George is later found in the 1841 census living in Limehouse with his wife & family and is an officer in the customs. Later his occupation is registered as Transport police. The eldest child William born 1821 was at first a Mariner, then following his marriage to Sophia POWELL became a warehouseman at a printers in Hoxton. The family has has lived in a number of East End locations including in Bethnal Green, De Bouvouir town, Hackney and Leytonstone.
