I am researching the family of William CASWELL, Lt Cdr RN; he was apparently a midshipman on HMS Victory during Trafalgar. Taking advantage of a land grant issued by the Lord High Admiral on 11 August, 1827, he came to Australia and built a house (stately of course!) about 1831; he died during a voyage to England in 1859.
I have no idea which ship he and his wife (Susan) and two children travelled to Australia with, or the disposition of any other retainers, e.g. nanny, governess, whatever! Any help or info you could give would be gratefully received!
